This qualitative descriptive study used interview and focus group data to research the experiences of K-3 teachers and school leaders in Alabama Science of Reading Spotlight Schools to determine effective leadership during a state mandated change. Braun and Clarke's six steps for thematic analysis was applied to the interviews utilizing MAXQDA software.
