Each day, seeking to address the never ending challenge of helping students with learning disabilities, the author's Baltimore Lab School and Lab School of Washington (LSW) colleagues remember a similar situation in the past and they try to recall what Sally Smith taught them. Smith taught the author a lot in his seven years of working with Smith's team in Baltimore to expand the Baltimore Lab School from only 18 lower school students to over 120 lower, middle and high school students. Smith made a significant contribution to his idea of what it means to be a psychologist. She challenged his training, his idea of service delivery and his overall view of the personhood of the child or adolescent with learning disabilities and/or ADHD.
