This study aimed to explore teachers' attitudes toward the compensation of their principals in public school system in Broward County, Florida. In this qualitative study, the principal was regarded as the CEO of the school, and the teachers were regarded as typical workers. The study extended research on CEO pay and helped fill the gap in the literature. Participation was derived from teachers at all three educational levels -- elementary, middle, and high schools -- to get a better understanding of teachers' attitudes in the entire public school system. Factors, such as displeasure concerning pay and compensation, can affect morale, efficiency, effectiveness, and overall job performance of teachers. Using modified survey instruments, teachers gave their responses electronically. More than 900 teachers were contacted, 135 teachers accessed the survey, and 130 completed the study. Analysis revealed that teachers are more inclined to feel that their principals are compensated fairly but strongly feel that they are not. This study could help in solving the problems of attracting and retaining highly skilled teachers. [The dissertation citations contained here are published with the permission of ProQuest LLC.
