Five Resources on Teaching Methods
Simmons, Linda Wright
Religious Education, v104 n1 p95-98 Jan 2009
This article offers five resources on teaching approaches that enhance learner participation and can be adapted inmost congregational learning contexts. These models emerge from diverse religious and secular perspectives; some are tailored for adult learners and some are ideal for learning in multicultural contexts. In alphabetical order, they are "The Craft of Christian Teaching: Essentials for Becoming a Very Good Teacher" by Israel Galindo (1998), "Eight Ways of Teaching: The Artistry of Teaching with Multiple Intelligences" by David Lazear (1999), "Learning from our Lives: Using Educational Biographies with Adults" by Pierre Dominice (2000), "Teaching for Faith: A Guide for Teachers of Adult Classes" by Richard Robert Osmer (1992), and "The Wolf Shall Dwell with the Lamb: A Spirituality for Leadership in a Multicultural Community" by Eric H. F. Law (1993). (Contains 2 footnotes.)
