Describing Baseline Conditions: Suggestions for Study Reports
Lane, Kathleen; Wolery, Mark; Reichow, Brian; Rogers, Leslie
Journal of Behavioral Education, v16 n3 p224-234 Sep 2007
Experimental research involves comparing two or more conditions. One of those conditions in single subject research is often the baseline. Adequate description of the baseline conditions is necessary for evaluating the effects of independent variables, drawing generalizations from studies, and providing information for subsequent replication studies. Suggestions are made about the types of information to include when describing baseline conditions in research reports. (Contains 1 table.)
