Differences in attitudes, perceived behavioral control, social norms (i.e., influence of others), and intent to engage in good residential landscape fertilizer practices were examined among people with high- and low-exposure to water bodies (blue space). Florida's residential fertilizer users are exposed to stormwater retention ponds, lakes, and rivers more than other types of water. The high-exposure group perceived significantly more social pressure and had greater intent to engage in good fertilizer practices. Blue space exposure positively relates to fertilizer practices that can protect water quality. Environmental education professionals should consider integrating exposure to water bodies through in-person or virtual experiences.
