This handout is a guide to library resources in the J. Murrey Atkins Library at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte in the field of children's and adolescent literature. The guide enables the reader to find biographical and critical information about an individual author or illustrator, or to research a literary style or period. The guide's sections are as follows: (1) Reference Books (sources for background information, biographical information, excerpts of criticism, and reference books on illustrators); (2) Books (dealing with Library of Congress subject headings and ALADDIN--online catalog); (3) Periodical Indexes (dealing with locating book reviews and with InfoTrac); (4) PASL (Periodicals and Serials List); (5) Collections of Essays; and (6) Historical Children's Books Collection.
