A survey of 1,697 students enrolled at Grand Valley State Colleges (GVSC) in off-campus courses and on-campus evening courses during Winter of 1976 was conducted to obtain information about the students taking these courses. The results of the survey are broken out and reported under the location in which the course was taken - Grand Rapids Center, Muskegon Center, and Allendale Evening. Highlights of the information obtained include: only 11 percent of the students in the Grand Rapids Center, 15 percent of the students in the Muskegon Center, and 8 percent of the students taking on-campus evening courses report that they are Community Education students; 31 percent of the on-campus evening students would have taken their courses in Grand Rapids if it were not available on campus, while 10 percent would have taken it in Muskegon; a greater percentage of the students at the two off-campus centers are committed to obtaining a degree from GVSC than is true for the on-campus evening students; and, 45 percent of the students in Grand Rapids and 72 percent of the students in Muskegon hold an Associate's degree compared to 23 percent of the on-campus evening students.
