A study conducted in 1974 to provide information about black freshmen at North Carolina State University, and a comparison with non-black freshmen enrolled in 1974 are presented. A descriptive summary and statistical data are provided on the following: mean CHSR, SAT, and UPGA scores; political views; freshmen participation in selected activities; religious views; need for special assistance in selected areas; choice of career or occupation; preferred housing arrangements; decision to enroll at the college; educational goals, and opinions on campus issues.
