Sexual Activity, Pregnancy, and Deviance in a Representative Urban Sample of African American Girls.
Lanctot, Nadine; Smith, Carolyn A.
Journal of Youth and Adolescence, v30 n3 p349-72 Jun 2001
Studied the relationships among sexual activity, pregnancy, and deviance in a cohort of 196 urban African American adolescent girls and compared the risk factors that predict these behaviors. Results indicate that girls who engage in early sexual activity and those who become pregnant are more likely to be involved in substance abuse and status offenses than others. (SLD)
