Results from 109 of 110 large universities showed a national increase in new black freshman enrollment from three percent in 1969 to six percent in 1973. Results indicate that more freshmen have tried marijuana than in previous years but there are fewer regular users. This study examines trends in student attitudes and behavior toward drugs over a twelve-month period, and follows up a previous investigation of University of Maryland students' attitudes and behavior toward drug use. Three types of test bias are discussed: content bias, atmosphere bias, and use bias. Use bias is considered the most important.
