Predicting the Academic Achievement of Female Students Using the SAT and Noncognitive Variables.
Ancis, Julie R.; Sedlacek, William E.
College and University, v72 n3 p2-8 Win 1997
Investigated the value of an instrument measuring noncognitive variables and scores on the Scholastic Assessment Tests as predictors of academic achievement of women college students. Found both noncognitive (especially demonstrated community service) and academic variables (mathematical and verbal skills) were significantly related to women's grade point averages throughout their college experience. Implications for admissions and college environment are discussed. (MSE)
