Mountain Plains Learning Experience Guide: Automotive Repair. Course: Suspension Systems.

One of twelve individualized courses included in an automotive repair curriculum, this course covers the theory, maintenance, and repair of front-end suspension and steering mechanisms. The course is comprised of five units: (1) Tire Balancing, (2) Manual Steering Gears, (3) Power Steering, (4) Fundamentals of Suspension, and (5) Front-End Alignment. Each unit begins with a Unit Learning Experience Guide that gives directions for unit completion The remainder of the unit consists of Learning Activity Packages (LAP) that provide specific information for completion of a learning activity. Each LAP is comprised of the following parts: objective, evaluation procedure, resources, procedure, supplemental sheets, study guide, and a LAP test with answers. The course is preceded by a pretest which is designed to direct the student to units and performance activities. (LRA)
