This directory lists more than 1,000 merit and other no-need funding and scholarship programs open to high school students and recent graduates for their undergraduate education in the United States. The programs are classified according to course of study in the sciences, social sciences, humanities, or any subject area. Programs reward outstanding speeches, essays, organizational involvement, and other activities in the chosen field. A typical entry includes information on: program title, sponsoring organization, purpose, eligibility, financial data, duration, special features, limitations, number of awards, and deadline for application. A list of state sources of information on educational benefits is provided, including state financial aid and guaranteed student loan programs.
