This report presents information about public elementary and secondary education for the 2002-03 school year. The data were provided by state education agencies through the Common Core of Data (CCD) survey system. Discussion of data is limited to the 50 states and the District of Columbia and excludes the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Department of Defense schools, and five outlying areas: American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Marianas, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. (Note that tables include data for all jurisdictions.) Appendixes include the following: (1) Technical Notes; (2) Key Terms; (3) Supplemental Data Tables; and (4) Reported and Missing Data Tables.
