The nature and timing of decisions regarding the diffusion of new instructional materials and practices are critical to the ultimate utility achieved by a curriculum project. This publication is a collection of five conference papers which deal with various aspects of diffusion of innovative materials and ideas. Everett M. Rogers discusses two agricultural models, the wide scope and the narrow scope models of diffusion. His proposals emphasize use of change-agent teams. Authur Foshay discusses the problems of bringing about change within the present structure of the schools, the difficulty of moving in the direction of change. Practical proposals for improving the process of diffusion are suggested. A normative model is developed by Michael Scriven. Consideration focuses on how diffusion should occur and how the diffusion process should be changed. In a paper by Ernest Burkman a development-dissemination scheme used by the ISCS Project in Florida is described.
