This report from the Slaton Elementary School in Atlanta (Georgia) provides information on student achievement for the 1986-87 school year. The narrative presents 26 findings concerning enrollment, reading achievement, math achievement, and achievement in other subject areas. Conclusions and recommendations generated from these findings are the following: (1) students completed the greater portion of the basal materials; (2) 41 percent of the students were at or above the national norm for reading, and 62 percent were above it for math; (3) instructional needs must be better met at grade levels with a high percentage of retention (particularly kindergarten and the first grade).
