Kimberly Elementary School: 1986-87 School Report.

This report from the Kimberly Elementary School in Atlanta (Georgia) provides information on student achievement for the 1986-87 school year. The narrative presents 28 findings concerning enrollment, attendance, reading achievement, math achievement, and achievement in other subject areas. Conclusions and recommendations generated from these findings are the following: (1) in 1987 the school was at the national norm for reading and math; (2) the number of kindergarten students scoring above national norms increased in 1987; (3) in 1987 second- and fourth-grade students performed above national norms for social studies and science; (4) students completed the greater portion of the reading and math materials; (5) 92 percent of the kindergarten class completed and mastered the reading readiness program; (6) scores for first-grade students on the criterion-referenced test exceeded reading and math scores for the system and the state; (7) in the third grade, 94 percent passed reading and 87 percent passed math on the first examination; and (8) principal and staff planning should allow students to sustain and improve upon this achievement.
