What Makes a Good Principal? How Teachers Assess the Performance of Principals.
Ballou, Dale; Podgursky, Michael
Economics of Education Review, v14 n3 p243-52 Sep 1995
Examines the performance of public school principals as rated by teachers they supervise. Work experience outside of education does not raise performance ratings, nor does administrative experience or graduate training. The only experience associated with higher performance ratings is teaching experience. Teachers tend to rate a principal of their own race or sex higher. (20 references) (MLH)
