50 Ways to Keep Your Co-Teacher: Strategies for before, during, and after Co-Teaching
Murawski, Wendy W.; Dieker, Lisa
TEACHING Exceptional Children, v40 n4 p40-48 Mar-Apr 2008
Researchers, teacher educators, and co-teachers are keenly aware of the issues related to obtaining--and more important, keeping--good co-teaching teams. In fact, educators frequently relate co-teaching to a marriage; unfortunately, research clearly indicates that many co-teaching marriages result in struggle, separation, or even divorce. This article uses humor and mnemonics to highlight the keys to effective co-teaching that research and literature have identified. Its purpose is to clarify the critical factors necessary for developing and maintaining a successful co-teaching team.
