Examines characteristics of students at private, for-profit institutions from 1992-1993 to 1995-1996. Students attending less-than-4-year for-profit institutions in 1995-1996 were primarily white and female. Most were independent (71%) and worked while enrolled (61%). There was little change in student profiles in the period studied. (SLD)
