The Impact of Traditional and Nontraditional Media Forms in the 1992 Presidential Election.
McLeod, Jack M.; And Others
Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly, v73 n2 p401-16 Sum 1996
Examines predictive patterns of traditional and nontraditional media forms on people's campaign interest and participation, information processing strategies, knowledge of candidates' positions, perceived votes for candidates, and issue salience. Finds nontraditional media had greatest impact on labile characteristics and weakest impact on difficult-to-alter criteria; traditional media continues to have a more potent influence than nontraditional media.
