This teacher's guide is the core module in a set of 36 modules and specifically accompanies CE 031 030. It is the first in the series Getting Down to Business. The purpose of module 1 is to provide an introduction to the other 35 business-specific modules in the program and be a supplementary reference for teachers. Following the overview are general notes on use of the module. Suggested steps for module use contain suggestions introducing the module, a brief discussion of the 15 units, responses to learning activities, suggestions for summarizing the module, and responses to the quiz. The units are Being a Small Business Owner, Planning a Small Business, Setting Up a Small Business, Choosing a Location, Getting Money to Start, Being in Charge, Organizing the Work, Buying and Keeping Track of Supplies, Setting Prices, Advertising and Selling, Keeping Financial Records (Revenues), Keeping Financial Records (Expenses), Making Sure You Have Enough Cash, and Keeping Your Business Successful.
