Elaboration Techniques That Increase the Meaningfulness of Technical Text: An Experimental Test of the Learning Strategy Hypothesis.
Mayer, Richard E.
Journal of Educational Psychology, v72 n6 p770-84 Dec 1980

Results of transfer and recall tests suggested that elaboration techniques can be applied to "real-world" materials, resulting in more integrated learning outcomes. (Author/GK)
