This report presents statistics concerning the library needs in the state of Washington as of 1975. The resources of public and academic libraries are examined in the following areas: professional and support staff; collections of print and nonprint materials; acquisition of materials; hours of service; and operating expenditures. Data are derived from regular reports of public libraries and from the 1975 survey of academic libraries conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). The report highlights key findings, analyzes the data, shows limited and approximate indicators for school library/media centers, and describes the research methodology. Tables display the data. (FM)
