Examines enrollment trends in high school and college Latin language and literature courses, as well as other indicators of interest in Latin. It is noted that the steady increase in enrollment since 1976 has resulted in a shortage of qualified Latin teachers. Measures are proposed for alleviating the teacher shortage problem. (SED)
