Evaluation of the use of repeated readings to increase the reading fluency of four elementary students with low vision found the intervention was effective in improving all four students' reading fluency without adversely affecting error rates or comprehension. Students' improved reading rates also generalized to classroom reading. (DB)

Determining the Reading Medium for Students with Visual Impairments: A Diagnostic Teaching Approach.

The article presents a two-phase process for use by multidisciplinary teams making decisions on the reading medium for students with visual impairments. This paper used a case study approach to explore the value of an objective procedure to evaluate the relative effectiveness of reading large print and reading regular print with low vision devices for 6 students (ages 8-16) with low vision.
