Examined online processing of morphological cues to sentence interpretation in Russian and German, evaluating the relative impact of cue availability and reliability. Using picture choices, researchers contrasted case-marking and animacy. Language differences in online processing existed, though both languages provided the same repertoire of reliable cues. Crosslinguistic differences in online processing were attributable to differences in cue availability. (SM)
