Pupil Membership and Related Information--Fall 1990.
Keith, Jo Ann; MacKenzie, Stella
Seven tables and two bar graphs present data concerning pupil membership in Colorado public school districts as of fall 1990. The tables include: state trends in pupil membership from fall 1986 through fall 1990; summary of selected school district data (number of schools, staff, students, pupil/teacher ratios, and dropout rate); fall membership by school district and grade; fall membership by school district and ethnic/racial group; 1990 graduates by school district, ethnic/racial group, and sex; graduation and completer rates by setting; and state trends in public high school graduates (1978-1990). The membership of 574,213 students represented an increase of 11,458 from the preceding year, the largest increase in pupil membership since 1971. The greatest increase in pupil membership was found in kindergarten through grade 6. Minority groups made up 24.7% of the total student population. The pupil/teacher ratio was 17.8 to 1. When special education and special subject teachers were excluded, the pupil/teacher ratio became 23.6 to 1. The Denver metropolitan area included 53.6% of the state's total pupil membership. (SLD)
