Two counselors, one a self-described feminist and the other holding more conservative attitudes toward women's liberation, led separate, semistructured consciousness-raising groups. It was found that participants in the group led by the feminist counselor showed higher postsession scores on the Attitudes Toward Women Scale. (GC)

Cultural myths about women and the nature of work may prevent mature women from fully participating in self-development. Investigated counselor bias in occupational choice for female students, using six short fictitious case studies that could describe either a male or female subject. Results showed high school counselors (N=114) chose occupations that paid less and required more supervision for female than for male case study subjects. (WAS)
