What Matters in the Measurement of Mattering?: A Construct Validity Study
France, Megan K.; Finney, Sara J.
Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, v42 n2 p104-120 2009
This study evaluates the psychometric properties of a measure of mattering to other people. A confirmatory factor analysis supported a four-factor model. In addition, mattering was positively related to measures of well-being and negatively related to measures of worry. The four factors related differently to these variables, providing additional support for their distinctiveness. (Contains 4 tables.)
