This document summarizes a report focusing on California counties receiving funds from Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (JJCPA) programs. These counties are required to report six outcome measures to the California State Legislature on an annual basis to measure the success of the program. These outcome measures are (1) successful completion of probation, (2) arrests, (3) probation violations, (4) incarcerations, (5) successful completion of restitution, and (6) successful completion of community service. The fiscal year 2004-05 annual report (ED502792) summarizes those findings, as well as additional program information gathered by the Los Angeles County Probation Department based on its oversight and monitoring of program implementation and outcomes. The report will be of interest to researchers, policymakers, and practitioners interested in the effectiveness of intervention programs for participating youths and those involved in the juvenile justice system. (Contains 5 footnotes and 4 tables.) [This report was written with Jitahadi Imara, Felicia Cotton, Davida Davies, and Apryl Harris. For full report, see ED502792. For 2003-2004 report and summary, see ED502794 and ED502786, respectively.]
