A model in-service education program in content area reading is described. Secondary content teachers changed their attitudes toward teaching reading in their classes, improved their knowledge of reading skills, and expanded their perception of their skill in teaching reading. (Editor)

Junior high teachers in a reading in-service program were pre- and post-tested on their knowledge of reading instruction and attitudes toward teaching reading in their content classes.
