Domjan, Michael – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Animal Behavior Processes, 1976
Even though many investigators have observed increased intakes of edibles as a function of prior exposure, little systematic research has been done on the effect. The present study was designed to investigate the phenomenon in domesticated rats with a concentrated solution of sodium saccharin used as the ingested substance. (Author)

Domjan, Michael – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Animal Behavior Processes, 1977
Attempts to evaluate the hypothesis that rats are more hesitant to ingest novel-flavored substances while they are under the influence of a toxic agent than in the normal state. (Author/RK)

Domjan, Michael; Levy, Carolyn J. – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Animal Behavior Processes, 1977
Experimenters in the past have reported that when insulin is used as the unconditioned stimulus (US), rats will learn an aversion to a sodium chloride but not a sucrose solution, whereas with formalin as the US, they will learn an aversion to a sucrose but not a saline solution. The present experiments failed to confirm these findings. (Editor)

Gillan, Douglas J.; Domjan, Michael – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Animal Behavior Processes, 1977
These experiments attempt to optimize the possibility of demonstrating blocking in a taste-aversion paradigm and to elucidate the conditions under which this interference occurs. (Author/RK)

Domjan, Michael; Gillan, Douglas J. – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Animal Behavior Processes, 1977
To complement investigations of the direct effects of lithium toxicosis on consummatory behavior, these experiments were designed to determine the aftereffects on drinking of exposure to a conditioned stimulus previously paired with lithium. (Author/RK)

Domjan, Michael; Best, Michael R. – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Animal Behavior Processes, 1977
Analyzes the temporal features of the transient unconditioned stimulus preexposure effect observed by Cannon (EJ 123 672) and attempts to determine whether a preconditioned stimulus toxin presentation can both condition a backward taste aversion and interfere with the development of a forward aversion. (Author/RK)
