This study involved all distributive education state supervisory and teacher education personnel in the United States, 48 distributive education teacher coordinators, and 400 distributive workers at entry, supervisory, and management levels. This document, Volume V, is the final volume in the report of the project, and includes final reports of Phases II and III of the study. The critical tasks, competencies needed to perform the tasks, and a cross-tabulation of competencies needed by workers are presented for selected categories of department and variety stores in Volume II (VT 005 974), food stores, service stations, and wholesaling in Volume III (VT 005 975), and hotel-motel and restaurants in Volume IV (VT 005 976). Volume I (VT 005 973) includes a philosophy of distributive education, the critical tasks of high school distributive education teacher coordinator, the professional competencies needed to perform the critical tasks, the technical competencies needed to develop identified competencies of selected distributive workers, and a cross tabulation of competencies needed by selected distributive workers.
