Raccoon Circles: A Handbook for Facilitators.
Cain, Jim
This handbook presents a collection of over 35 experiential and adventure-based activities using only a single item of equipment--a 15-foot long section of 1-inch tubular climbing webbing, called a raccoon circle. Some of the activities are quiet, some are loud, and they range from low to high challenge levels. Different-sized groups can be accommodated by using multiple lengths of raccoon circles. The activities address getting acquainted, motivation and energizing, consensus building, group connection, group problem solving, calmness and unity, goal setting, trust, skill building, high-level team skills, processing, debriefing, and closure. Nine of the author's favorite workshops, conference presentations, and training events are listed with a brief synopsis of each one. Six resources are presented along with seven other Raccoon Circle printed resources, books, and activity guides. (TD)
