Use of the Alternating Treatments Design as a Strategy for Empirically Determining Language Training Approaches with Mentally Retarded Children.
Barrett, Rowland P.; Sisson, Lori A.
Research in Developmental Disabilities, v8 n3 p401-12 1987
The study demonstrated the utility of the alternating treatments design in determining the most efficacious language training approach with mentally retarded children. Oral communication, total communication, and modified total communication were each used with two children in three trials. The preferred approach was consistent within each subject but differed across subjects. (Author/DB)
