With more than one million students dropping out of high school each year, Grad Nation is specifically designed to offer solutions and tools for every size community and presents a compelling case for all sectors of society to get involved. The guidebook is part of the Alliance's Dropout Prevention Campaign. The guide brings together the nation's best evidence-based practices for keeping young people in school. It includes information on making the case to the community on the need to act to establishing early warning systems, implementing effective school transformation strategies, building proven "multiple pathways" to graduation, and wrapping the most appropriate services around students so they can surmount the challenges they face. Following an open letter and introduction, four sections include: (1) Rallying Your Community to End the Dropout Crisis; (2) Understanding Your Community's Dropout Crisis; (3) Solutions for Comprehensively Addressing the Dropout Crisis; and (4) Moving Forward to Create Lasting Change. Feedback and Sponsor information, and Listing of tools available as a downloadable pdf are included. (Sections are individually noted.) [Additional funding was provided by the Bank of America.]
