Delta Pi Epsilon Journal, v48 n3 p144-152 Fall 2006
The twofold purpose of this study was (a) to determine if selected variables were significant predictors of final MBA student program performance and (b) to determine if selected variables explained a significant proportion of the variance in final MBA student program performance at an AACSB-accredited university. Variables examined include age at program admittance, class location (i.e., off/on-campus), gender, GMAT score-quantitative, GMAT score-total, GMAT score-verbal, program entrance (i.e., direct/not direct from undergraduate program), student status (i.e., full/part-time), undergraduate GPA, and undergraduate major (i. e., business/non-business). Findings revealed that GMAT score-quantitative, program entrance, and undergraduate GPA were significant predictor and explanatory variables of final MBA student program performance at an AACSB-accredited university where the study was conducted. Slightly more than 13% of the variance in final MBA student program performance was explained by these three variables. Implications for MBA program administrators are presented. (Contains 2 tables.)
