Some Weaknesses in Education Administration and Some Plans for Improvement: A Point of View (1989).
Achilles, C. M.
A review of recent literature and commission reports identifies persistent problems in two areas of educational administration: research and preparation programs. The two problems are linked in that they are often supervised by faculty who direct but do not themselves perform research. Two areas of research needs are the poor research skills of the faculty and poor research designs. The recommendation is made for the development of an educational administration model, which might be similar to those in other fields, particularly economics, to develop a database, generate a focus for research, and provide a research evaluation tool. An extensive bibliography and tables of criticisms and remedies for educational administration and faculty-oriented research improvement procedures are included. (LMI)
