The workbooks each consist of four research units, a future force section, and a reference section. Students are actively involved in the learning process and in acquiring information. The research units in Book I focus on: (1) "Population, Life Expectancy, and Housing"; (2) "Energy"; (3) "Space Exploration and Social Welfare"; and (4) "Transportation and Global Mobility." The research units in Book II focus on: (1) "Communication, Silicon Chips, and Robots"; (2) "Work, Leisure, and Education"; (3) "Health/Medical Technologies and Your Life"; and (4) "Values and Expediencies."
