This guide is designed to expand the use of agriculture as a medium for environmental education. It's goal is to increase communication and sharing among farms, parks, schools, museums and other educational settings that utilize agriculture for environmental understanding. An introduction provides an overview of agriculture and education. Subsequent sections contain: (1) a review of seven unique programs in animal sciences, plant sciences, and multicultural education for youth and adults; (2) a listing of educational resources which focuses on new curricula emphasizing hands-on experimental approaches using science processes (including one book, seven curricula, five magazines and journals, and six organizations); and (3) a national directory of 54 environmental education sites focusing on agriculture.
