This curriculum guide outlines the K-12 guidance curriculum that is being implemented in the Ripon, Wisconsin, School District. The first three short sections of the guide introduce the developmental guidance model, describe the project that produced it, and recommend staffing changes needed to implement the model. The following 10 sections provide the curriculum goals for each level (K-12) in the following areas: orientation, academic fitness, choices and consequences, self-esteem, family, wellness, interpersonal relationships, citizenship, feelings (communication), and careers. For each area, goal statements are provided, and competencies and subcompetencies for grades K-12 are stated and coordinated with subject areas. Attachments to the curriculum guide outline a proposed personal development course and suggest activities for developmental guidance in subject areas of high school English, school health, and social studies.
