I Can Learn Italian.
Fronk, Dorothy; Martelli, Thomas
This set of materials for Italian second language instruction was designed for students who can be taught most effectively through a functional, conversational approach. It is intended as a supplement to the regular course of study so that all students, regardless of ability level, can be provided with an effective instructional program. It provides appropriate materials for non-academic students in the beginning phase of learning the language. Included in the units are simple dialogues and passages dealing with everyday situations that are not only directly useful for the classroom but also serve as models for additional material created by the teacher. Each unit also contains a variety of exercises to facilitate language acquisition and stimulate interest in language learning. Attention is given to the natural sequence of structure within the topics and to the use of vocabulary and language expressions in context. Activity types include acrostics, anagrams, crossword puzzles, word-searches, description and identification games, scrambled words, songs, and matching and completion exercises. (MSE)
