Let's Talk. Mothers Inform Mothers: A Dutch Community-Based Early-Childhood Care and Development Support Programme.
Hanrahan, Marian, Ed.; Prinsen, Bert, Ed.
This booklet is about the Mothers Inform Mothers program (MIM), a network of local early childhood care and development support programs in five provinces in The Netherlands. These programs are carried out in eight different towns (two large, four medium, and two small) in deprived areas. A short overview of the theoretical basis for the program is given, including health promotion, social support, nursing, and community organization. Planning, execution, and process evaluation activities are also discussed. The purpose of the booklet is to give information about MIM to an international audience. The booklet is aimed at professionals such as nurses, medical practitioners, developmental psychologists, pedagogues, social workers, health educators, researchers, and others.
