This textbook is part of a Mexican series of instructional materials designed for Spanish speaking adults who are in the process of becoming literate or have recently become literate in their native language. It is designed to teach people with developing literacy skills to participate in a meaningful way in the life of their community. Topics covered include the communities of Mexico; the topography and environment of one's community; community organization and participation; unions; community culture; citizen participation in government; citizenship; and the various levels of government.
