This directory provides a comprehensive guide to special services offered to assist students with disabilities at 235 postsecondary institutions in New York State, based on a 1994 survey. Part 1 provides two listings of the included institutions, one alphabetical and one by sector--State University of New York, City University of New York, independent, and proprietary. Part 2 provides summaries of services offered by each institution listed alphabetically within each sector. Part 3 provides tables of services by category, to allow the user to determine which institutions offer a particular type of service. Examples of services listed include: campus orientation and training services; peer support groups; remedial courses designed for students with disabilities; wheelchair accessibility; special equipment available; experiences for students with disabilities who plan to attend college; special services available with or without cost; and strobe warning/attention lights.
