O'Neal, Linda; And Others
Transition procedures in the Irvine Unified School District (California) are explained in a set of three pamphlets. In the first pamphlet, elements of the Individual Transition Plan are outlined. Also discussed are advocacy and the law, financial issues, support services offered by state and community agencies, services of national and state disability organizations, and the employment outlook for various service-producing and goods-producing industries. The second pamphlet addresses the goals of collaborative transition planning, membership of the transition project committee, committee member responsibilities, development of the individual transition plan, and program and service options. An accompanying leaflet lists vocational/employment preparation programs available for special education students, noting their location, student population served, school credit allotted, brief program description, and contact person for additional information.
