This set of curriculum materials is a remedial, self-paced occupational mathematics program for educationally disadvantaged students. Experienced shop instructors worked with a mathematics consultant to develop and refine materials designed in a prior project. The curriculum package titled Math-PAC is comprised of a teacher management system and remedial instructional units related to five occupational areas: transportation, health occupations, building trades, mechanics, and personal services. Each instructional unit includes individual worksheets which develop mathematics skills needed in the occupational area. Math-PAC is self-paced and designed to be used with a class of 10 students in 2- or 3-hour periods. Students work individually completing one or more worksheets at each session, and leave the program when they have developed adequate competencies. The introductory section describes the development of the materials and comments briefly on each unit. Pre- and posttests are described and presented, and form letters to parents and home schools are presented. Classroom environment, floor plan and equipment, and teaching techniques are briefly discussed. Then the lessons and worksheets are presented. (MNS)
