Vacation Study Abroad. The Learning Traveler, Volume 2. Thirty-Sixth Edition.
Howard, Edrice, Ed.
A guide to more than 850 study-abroad programs is updated each year to give information about programs that take place during the period from late spring to early fall. About half of the programs, which range from 3 days to 3 months, are sponsored by U.S. colleges and universities, the rest by foreign institutions and private and governmental groups. A brief introductory section to help students plan vacation study abroad includes information on types of programs, finances, travel and living, language proficiency, the Third World, and disabled students. All programs are listed alphabetically by region, country, and city, and entries include the name and address of the sponsoring body and brief information on: dates, subjects, level, credit, eligibility, instruction, the year the program was established, program-related travel, costs, housing, application deadlines, and the primary contact for further information. Appendices include a list of consortia that sponsor programs, an annotated bibliography, and indexes of sponsoring institutions and fields of study. (SW)
